All In: Miracle At St. Bernard’s Synopsis:
All In: Miracle at St. Bernard’s is about faith, family and football. This documentary chronicles a tiny, 100-year-old Catholic school in Fitchburg, Massachusetts struggling with insolvency yet defying the odds at a time when the Church was shuttering similar institutions nationwide. It’s the underdog story of a working-class community and the state’s smallest football program rallying in pursuit of an impossible goal: to save their school from closure by the Church. The Bernardians faithful needed a miracle. They set about creating one. All In follows the dramatic campaigns to raise money and enrollment as well as a magical football season that together saved a beloved institution.
Our Review:
St Bernard’s is the smallest school in the state of Massachusetts with a football
team, but it is the biggest school in terms of heart. This documentary chronicles more than a school, more than a team… it chronicles family. Adults and students working together in their own ways to save their “home”. This documentary does a fine job of showcasing the ingenuity the adults utilized while fundraising to save their school as well as the burden students felt to contribute in some way. The filmmakers got to the emotional heart of the story by getting the main participants in this story to really open up. The pride that these folks have in their school community really translates across the screen. It’s a feeling I wish we all could bottle. We could all learn a thing or two about team work and motivation from Principal Linda Anderson and Coach Bingham.
All In: Miracle At St. Bernard’s will renew your faith in community and humanity. When the world gets you down turn on this film and remember that faith, hard work and persistence always pay off in some way. The underdog Bernardian’s had faith and dared to bet on themselves and came out winners all around.

From The Directors:
All In, like the story itself, is a community effort. The project came to us from Jeff
Bowler, who grew up in Central Massachusetts and attended St. Bernard’s in the 1990s. Jeff introduced us to Nate Bilotta, a devoted Bernardian alum, hall of famer, parent – a lifer who’s interviewed in the film. Nate wound up joining our team to lead a spirited fundraising drive that secured much of the production budget from within this generous community. So the film itself is a grassroots campaign, a true passion project and an underdog story in its own right.
We hope the film will succeed so the community succeeds.
In other words, we’re All In. – Gregg Backer & Evan Kanew
