Synopsis:

Arthur The King stars Academy Award® nominee Mark Wahlberg (2006, Best Supporting Actor, The Departed). In the film an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light and a scrappy street dog dubbed Arthur over the course of a grueling 10-day, 435-mile racecourse. An inspiring story based on true events, Arthur the King follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back his team for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. The plot follows Mikael Lindnord (Mark Wahlberg) an adventure racer who encounters a stray dog, (Arthur), during a grueling race. This unexpected meeting sparks a profound bond that significantly impacts not only the team but the race itself.
Mark Wahlberg delivers a compelling performance as Lindnord, capturing the nuances of a determined athlete whose life is transformed by a simple act of kindness. Wahlberg’s portrayal balances toughness and vulnerability, highlighting the emotional journey of his character as he navigates the challenges of the race and the evolving relationship with Arthur.
