KID’s Review:

Kate Beecroft developed East of Wall using a cinéma vérité approach to depict the real-life story of Tabatha Zimiga and her family. The film portrays actual events experienced by Zimiga’s blended family. Each family member portrays a slightly fictionalized version of themselves alongside actors Scoot McNairy and Jennifer Ehle.  Beecroft incorporates fictional elements and characters to shape a more cohesive narrative. She skillfully blends truth and imagination. This result in a film that captures the raw, authentic spirit of a family with remarkable resilience.

East of Wall won the Audience Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Be sure to see this film!
