Transformers One Synopsis:
Optimus Prime and Megatron are archenemies but they were once best buddies. In this previously untold origin story. The movie takes us from the depths of Cybertron’s Energon mines to the planet’s forbidden surface in a quest that defines the future of a civilization. A group of lowly cog-less worker bots, led by Orion Pax and D-16, make a daring excursion to retrieve the long-lost Matrix of Leadership. They attempt to restore the free flow of Energon, their planet’s life blood. Instead, they uncover a centuries-old conspiracy that will set off the Transformers bots’ millennia-long civil wars. Transformers One features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth (Optimus), Brian Tyree Henry (Megatron), Scarlett Johansson( Elita-1) , Keegan-Michael Key (Bumblebee), Steve Buscemi (Starscream) with Laurence Fishburne (Alpha Trion), and Jon Hamm (Sentinel Prime).
Our Review:
Transformers One takes place before the civil war between the Autobots and the Decepticons destroys Cybertron. At this point Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16 (Brian Tyree Henry) are a pair of worker bots in the Energon mines deep within Cybertron. A whirlwind journey that takes the bots from best friend status to bitter enemies ensues. Transformers One is not just an action flick it is a story of friendship and good intentions gone wrong. Producer Aaron Dem put it best “When people walk into this movie, they’ll be expecting great action and a fast-paced story,” He continues.,“And they will get exactly that. They will also get a heartful story. They’ll get comedy and drama and an adventure of a scale and scope they haven’t yet seen.
This movie brings it all.” In my opinion so did Hemsworth and Henry who bring these characters to life. Their voices bring to life the perfect emotions at every point. Transformers fans all know that Megatron’s fall from grace and Optimus’ rise to heroism is coming yet this storyline brings both forth in a way that hooks the audience. Diehard fans of the Transformers franchise will love the “Easter Eggs” and if they are anything like me will be motivated to rewatch the original films. I’m calling it… Transformers One will be the hit movie of the fall 2024 season.
