Candytopia: A Sweet Treat in NYC

Candytopia fever has hit New York City.

We were reluctant to go to Candytopia when we first heard about it because we had no idea what to expect.  We had seen advertisements for it on social media and around the city but they were vague.  Word of mouth always works and because a few of my son’s friends loved it we decided to give it a whirl. We got a group together and went running like kids heading to the candy store.

Candytopia is the sweet dream of Jackie Sorkin host of Candy Queen on TLC and CEO of Hollywood Candy Girls Inc. The New York exhibit consists of 13 rooms full of sweet candy art made to make you feel as if you are wandering through the halls with Willy Wonka. Candy samples are abundant in each room and of course if you crave more, full size confections are available in the candy shop at the end of the tour.

One of the first treats for the eye you will see is a dragon consisting of 125,000 pieces of candy!  We loved everything about Candytopia but my son’s favorite room was the Under the Sea Room.  The shark alone is made up of 20,000 pieces of candy.

Isn’t this seahorse amazing?

There are so many things to take in I’d actually like to go again.  It was hard to navigate 5 kids and have my instagram game on point!  I might have to sneak away from work one day for a candy break!
