Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge

Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge kicks off September 8, 2022. Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge gives kids the power to make a positive impact for children in need around the world.

DreamWorks Animation and UNICEF USA have teamed up for this special program. By watching Gabby’s Challenge videos on YouTube Kids, children can contribute towards making lasting change for kids around the world.  They can also learn valuable social-emotional lessons.

Join Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge:

How To Participate:

Watch weekly videos on YouTube from now through World’s Children’s Day on November 20th. Videos will feature Gabby (Laila Lockhart Kraner) and favorite kitty characters Pandy Paws, Cakey Cat, and DJ Catnip participating in fun crafts, dancing and costume parties.  Videos will highlight valuable lessons like the importance of teamwork, mindfulness, flexible thinking and failure as a learning process.

As kids watch along, kitty hearts will be added to a kitty bank on GabbysKidPowerChallenge.com. Once the kitty bank is full, families can choose to support an area of UNICEF’s work that DreamWorks’ $400,000 donation can go to.  Options include nutrition, education and emergencies.

The First Kid Power Video:

Examples of what the money donated by DreamWorks could help fund include:

  • Therapeutic food packs for children with severe acute malnutrition.
  • School supplies for children across the world who can’t afford back-to-school basics or attend underfunded schools.
  • Emergency supplies such as blankets for children and families who have been displaced from their homes by emergencies.

By participating in this challenge, children will learn that they can help ensure that more children around the world are able to access their basic rights.

“Gabby’s Kid Power Challenge gives children around the US the agency they need to be changemakers in today’s world,” said Shelley Diamond, Chief Marketing Officer of UNICEF USA. “UNICEF USA is proud to be the implementing partner of this creative concept that will empower children to use their voices and help create a more equitable world for every child.”
