George Goes Everywhere Streaming Now

George Goes Everywhere and his exciting adventures begin in my hometown New York City.

The new show hosted by television writer and YouTube personality George Igoe is now running on Million Stories the free streaming financial literacy entertainment channel.  I am thrilled to have been able to interview George for this article and bring you the inside scoop on this fun, unique new show.

George Goes Everywhere focuses on inexpensive travel tips that won’t break the bank. Exploring cities across the U.S. with just 100 bucks in his pocket, George shares his clever travel tips & tricks with all. George highlights unique excursions, activities and restaurants yielding fun hidden gems along the way. The idea for George Goes Everywhere stemmed from Igoe’s personal life.  “I’ve always loved to travel, but didn’t always have the bankroll to fund it, so I had to get creative.”  Having worked in television for many years it just made sense for George to combine the two aspects of his life and create a show.

The Interview:

How do you choose the cities you visit?  Was there a significance to the premiere episode being in New York City?

I grew up in New Jersey, just outside NYC, so of course it holds a special place in my heart. The premiere episode is one of my personal favorite episodes, so leading off with it just made sense. We’re based in California, so we thought we’d focus on the eastern half of the US. And within that, chose a variety of spots too visit, We have a Northeast batch of cities, a Midwest one, a Texas/Louisiana one, and a Southeast one. No matter where we chose, we found fun and interesting places that don’t break the bank.

What is your favorite city to travel to and why? I absolutely love Chicago. I‘d been there a couple times before and it never fails to disappoint. Every time I go I can’t wait to return.

Do you love seeking out the unique and unusual on your own personal vacations?Definitely! In fact, right before Covid, I went to a friend’s bachelor party in Austin, Texas. I searched for some unique activities beforehand and was able to convince everyone to check them out with me!

Your job- traveling is “enjoyment” to the rest of us. When your work is travel- how does that affect your vacation mind-set? What is the perfect vacation for you? Do you love to explore or do you get so tired of “work mode” that you just want to chill on the beach? When travel is your work, it means that even though you might be in a fun location, you’re still “on the clock.” You have to focus on completing the job you’re there to do. For example, when I go to a location, I have to be thinking about where to put the camera, sound, lighting, what shots I’ll need, etc. I’m also the editor, so often I’m editing the segment in my head.

I prefer exploration and adventurous travel. Give me wandering the streets of an unfamiliar city over sitting on a beach any day.

Where have you not traveled that is on your bucket list and why? I definitely want to go to India, but the schedule just hasn’t worked out and I haven’t had the chance …yet!

How many U.S. cities have you visited and which is your favorite? Why?  I’m not sure about the number of cities… but I can say that I’ve only been to 20-25 states. So I definitely have some work to do before getting to all 50.

What is the city where you can have the most budget friendly fun in your opinion and why? There is so much fun stuff to do in Milwaukee. It’s not as large as New York or Chicago so it’s nowhere near as expensive.

Why did you brought your show to Million Stories? I had been making travel content on my personal YouTube channel for several years, and a fair amount of it focused on traveling on a budget. So when Million Stories was looking for someone to help them make a show like this, it was an instant match.
