About Dick Bruna and Miffy

Miffy was “born” on June 21, 1955, when Dutch artist Dick Bruna first drew the character to entertain his young son while on a rainy holiday in Holland. The series of picture books use simple illustrations and rhyming text to explore the universal experiences of childhood. Bruna immediately earned international critical acclaim as an author and artist. In addition to merchandise, there are several Miffy musicals, a movie and a TV series.
