Our Favorite Books For Earth Day 2024:

The Ever Changing Earth- (Ages 4-8) 40 pages.

*Once this book comes out on 4/23, you can follow the poetic account of Earth’s lifespan by Kate Greenaway Award–winning illustrator Grahame Baker-Smith. This poetic journey takes us through the evolution of Earth’s surface from water world to ice age to the landscape we know today.

The Mighty Pollinators- (Ages 2-5 years), 32 pages.

What is pollen, and why should we care? Almost invisible, pollen waits for a ride on the wind—or on wings or feathers. That’s where pollinators come in, small and mighty, holding the world together with their busy work. Photographs saturated with color show us the busy world of bees, butterflies, bats, and moths at close range. Accompanying poems encourage the reader to look closely and to care about the vital role these creatures play in the ecosystem.

Thank You, Earth: A Love Letter to Our Planet- (Ages 4-8 years), 40 pages.

Acclaimed children’s book author and photographer April Pulley Sayre’s love letter to Earth is a colorful exploration of the beautiful and complex world we live in. Winner of the Green Prize for Sustainable Literature and a Green Earth Book Award Long List title.

The Last Zookeeper- (Ages 5-9 years), 40 pages.

Caldecott winning author Aaron Becker imagines a futuristic Noah’s Ark in this sci-fi parable aimed at the kind hearted. The Earth has flooded. The only signs of humankind are the waterlogged structures they left behind. Tender-hearted NOA is a construction robot who’s found new purpose as the caretaker of a zoo’s abandoned inhabitants. Bracing for the next storm, NOA builds an ark from the wreckage in search of a new home for all, only to discover something even more profound. Becker’s message of caring will inspire all who read.

Love The Earth- (Ages 3-6 years) 40 pages.

Julian Lennon’s White Feather Flier is a magical plane that can go anywhere on Earth! The Flier’s mission is to transport readers around the world, to engage them in helping to save the environment, and to teach one and all to love our planet.
