Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway is finally hopping into theaters on June 11th! Peter Rabbit 2 is based on the Characters in “Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter and is sure to evoke feelings of nostalgia.

**Disclosure: Sony Pictures provided me with an early screener of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway in order to facilitate this review.

Peter Rabbit 2 Synopsis:

The lovable rogue Pete Rabbit is back! Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be. Sound good?  Watch the Trailer below and I guarantee you’ll be hopping to the theater with your own friends to see Peter and crew raise some mischief.

Non Spoiler Review:

Without giving much away, Peter Rabbit 2 delivers an important message. When Peter starts running with Barnabas and his trouble making crowd, Peter has to make a choice. Will he chose popularity over family and staying  true to himself? The teen years are an important time in identity building and as the mother of a newly crowned teenager this dilemma resonates.

There is plenty of hilarious hijinks and slapstick fun in this sequel but this film doesn’t try as hard as the first film. It is not as obnoxious and I think audiences will find it more enjoyable. The live-action CG animation is fantastic and the adorable animals are what’s going to draw in the smiles. Who can resist live-action animals even if they are a tad spicy?
