Mom always calls Robin a big, brave hippo, but on the first day of school she just wants to hide. Robin is a young hippo who finds that looking out for a friend can turn shyness into bravery.  Jamie Kim’s sweet picture book is a cheerfully illustrated story about helping others and making friends along the way. Reading this story to the kids will ibring you back to the days when everything was new and felt scary.  If you were a shy child, this story may spark the memory of a similar experience where you felt insecure like Robin. Hopefully this heartwarming tale will encourage young readers to act kindly towards others and reap the rewards of true friendship.
