Sonic The Hedgehog Is Super Sonic Fun

Sonic The Hedgehog is super-sonic fun despite all of its initial production issues.

The bizarre looking initial animation and trailer seemed to guarantee that this film would fall flat but Jeff Fowler (director) went back and fixed the issues.  I’m sure glad he did because the result is a fun, entertaining film the kids will enjoy.

The Trailer:

Sonic The Hedgehog, Our Non Spoiler Review:

Sonic (Ben Schwartz) is a young alien hedgehog that is living on Earth all by himself. He is unhappy because he is lonely. The rambunctious fellow manages to get the local sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) involved in an adventure that spans from Montana to San Francisco. The new buddies need to defend themselves against the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) which leads to a lot of fun mayhem along the way.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a fun ride. The kids are going to love this fast paced adventure film. While the kids may not be too familiar with this 90’s video game character, they will instantly warm up to Sonic’s charming persona. He seems so lonely you just want to take him home to live with you.

As you would expect, Jim Carrey’s unhinged Dr. Robotnik steals the show. He is perfect as the guy you love to hate. Carrey is the quintessential mad scientist who perfectly plays against the nice guy buddy duo of Sonic and Tom.

Bits of peppered in nostalgia thrilled the adults in our preview.  One of the classic games’ famous music sounds shows up near the end of the film. There is a post credit scene that got our audience up out of the seats clapping and cheering for a sequel.  I really hope we get one.
Zoom the kids over the the theater to see this movie fast (see what I did there) before it is too late.
