Spirit Untamed is a sweeping adventure about a headstrong girl named Lucky Prescott longing for a place to belong. Lucky discovers a kindred spirit when she unexpectedly crosses paths with a wild horse who she names Spirit.

Lucky’s mother Milagro, a fearless horse-riding stunt performer from a small frontier town passed away when she was a toddler. Like her mother, Lucky isn’t a fan of rules much to the concern of her Aunt Cora. Lucky has grown up in an East Coast city under Cora’s watchful eye, but when Lucky gets into trouble one too many times, Cora moves them both to Miradero to reunite with Lucky’s father Jim.
Lucky is unimpressed with her new home but soon has a change of heart as she bonds with Spirit, a wild Mustang who shares her independent streak. She also befriends two local horseback riders Abigail and Pru.
Spirit, along with her new friends have given Lucky a sense of purpose and belonging. Spirit has helped Lucky discover an unanticipated connection to her mother’s legacy and to her Mexican heritage. But enough spoilers here! You’ll have to see the film to find out what happens when a heartless horse wrangler tries to capture Spirit and his herd to sell them off for profit.
Spirit Untamed is a beautiful story of exactly that…cultivating your spirit! “A Prescott never gives up!” is the mantra of the film. Lucky lost so much at a young age and never felt at ease living under her stuffy grandfather’s roof. With a little help from her “kindred spirit”, and an assist from new friends, Lucky’s confidence and self worth soars. She finds her place in the world while finding peace with her past. Kids will love this exuberant and uplifting film. My advice, gallop to the theaters to see this uplifting and adventurous film.
