Standout Toys At Sweet Suite ’23:
Sweet Sweet ’23 put me in the mood to celebrate “Christmas in July”. It’s never too early to start previewing the hottest toys for the holidays and Sweet Suite always brings Santa’s best selections together in one place.
The hottest party of the summer returned to Chelsea Pier 60! A special thank you to the staff at The Toy Insider for the fun event! Their motto “We know play” certainly rings true. Everything from the location to the food, drinks and personal connections made for an incredible experience. As usual, from the moment I walked in the doors I felt like a big KID in a candy shop!
I say it every year but its worth repeating…there are so many terrific toys at Sweet Suite it is impossible to feature them all. Narrowing the list down is truly toy lover’s torture but I try my best. I look for fun, unique finds that the kids (and us KIDults) are sure to love. Now let’s get to the toys! Here are my Sweet Suite ’23 picks in no particular order.
Standout Toys At Sweet Suite ’23:
Fingerlings- (WowWee) Fingerlings are back and cuter than ever. They are fuzzy! These updated cuties have over 70 reactions, he ability to sit down and actually interact with you as they clutch your finger!
Green Planet Explorers- (Hape) As a koala lover, the Green Planet Explorers Koala Family stole my heart! Made from bamboo and plant plastic, Green Planet Explorers are a great way to engage children in learning about sustainability through the power of play! The primary goal of the Green Planet Explorers is to show children how simple it can be to make a positive impact on our world. I love this!
Bitzees– (Spin Master) You can actually touch these interactive pets! Bitzees evolve!- Each pet starts as a “baby” and grows as you interact with it. Nurture your little friend and see what happens over time! Get yours at Amazon!
Jurassic World Ravenous Raptors- (Toy Monster) Help your dino chomp, chomp, chomp away! This fast paced game is full of omnivorous fun.
Boop (Smirk & Dagger) A challenging two player game with adorable packaging. Place a kitten on the comfy looking bed and it ‘boops’ (moves) every kitten next to it one space away! Can you manage to line up 3 kittens in a row, grow them into cats and line up 3 more to win? Boop and find out!
You Didn’t Think That Was It Did You? More Standout Toys:
Pop Taters- (Super Impulse) Potato head versions of Bob Ross, Dwight Schrute, Gene Simmons and Sonic the Hedgehog? Yes please! These taters are so cool you are gonna want each and every one!
Pokemon Sleep- This new Pokemon app is nothing to snore about! Use it and wake up to Pokémon! Place your smartphone by your pillow at night and the longer you sleep, the higher your score. In the morning, Pokémon that sleep similar as you do will gather around Snorlax.
Shashibo- (Fun in Motion Toys) What a mesmerizing gadget! You have to check out this sensory box (featuring 36 rare earth magnets) that transforms into over 70 shapes!
Little Tikes- Big Adventures Collection– Little Tikes should have BIG adventures and they will with this new stem toy line. The vehicles combine role play, fun and learning with real, working STEM tools.
My Fuzzy Friends; Magic Whispers Kitty (SkyRocket)- You can actually hear what this beautiful cat whispers to you when you press Kitty’s glowing crystal heart against your forehead!
Vital Hero- (Bandai) Parents are going to love this first interactive gaming wearable. Kids will love trying to level up, play, move and exercise all in the name of fun!
Plushies At Sweet Suite ’23:
Sweet Suite ’23 should be nicknamed “Sweet Plushies”! I loved so many of the new plush coming out and I am convinced you will to.
AmiAmis- These are not your grandma’s knits! Collectible, sweet fun awaits you! Check them out on Amazon here.
Palm Pals- These cuddly plush fit in the palm of your hand and will make you want to seriously cuddle fruits and veggies all day long.
Pop Soft Plush- (Cepia) I first saw a rendering of the elephant at Sweet Suite ’22 and have been stalking Cepia’s website forever to see when they were launching. You are sure to go wild over the colorful and artsy elephants, turtles and unicorns that make up this whimsical collection.
Plush Goals- (Cuddle Barn) Axolotl alert! Yes the axolotl is a real, live creature and you can have your own named Lottie thanks to Plush Goals. But the real issue here is that you are going to want all of these cuddle muffins especially Wawa the strawberry frog.
Snuggle Puppy- My pup Ginger had a Snuggle Puppy when she first came home and he was her BFF. She actually loved him so much he’s no more . But Ginger is not only a good girl, she’s a lucky girl because I was gifted a new Snuggle Puppy to review thanks to Sweet Suite. Stay tuned to learn all about the best plush for your pet.
Pudgy Penguins (PMI Toys)- This line of figures and plush is based on the Pudgy Penguins virtual craze. Pudgy Penguins come with interchangeable accessories and a scannable code that unlocks a collectible digital penguin customization.
Sweet Suite ’23 Dolls:
The doll selection at Sweet Suit was super sweet! Doll lovers are going to need to make a lot of room on their shelves this year. The choices are not only diverse they are adorable. That said I need to dedicate a lot of space to do them the justice they deserve. Here’s a preview but please come back for a special article on the dolls shortly.
Rainbow Brite- (The Loyal Subjects)- Cool Color Kids rejoice! 🌈As part of the 40th anniversary of the beloved 80s icon, Rainbow Brite will once again be hitting store shelves!
That’s right she’s back and bringing the retro vibes.

Furby- (Hasbro)- The updated Furby is not only adorable it has the ability to talk to other Furbys and even boasts over 600 responses. Furby has voice recognition, gorgeous eyes and some slick dance moves as well.
