The Book Of Cultures On Kickstarter 3/10/20

The Book of Cultures is a new book that dares to ask “Where is the diversity in Picture Books?”

In 2018, less than a quarter of picture books in the United States featured a hero from a diverse background while in the UK the figure was a startling 4%. We are big supporters of diversity in children’s books.  We are happy to announce that a Kickstarter campaign for The Book of Cultures is launching on March 10th.

About The Book of Cultures:

The Book of Cultures is a picture book of 30 bedtime stories representing different countries. The book is specially designed for young readers to discover the world. The Book of Cultures will bring characters from all corners of the planet alive to help children embrace diversity.

Every child deserves to see themselves in a story, to feel accepted, relevant and loved. Children have the right to understand the world through different eyes, with all its colors and complexities, and learn how to embrace diverse perspectives. “The Book of Cultures” beautifully exemplifies that.

Each story follows a “buddy” from a different country, and explores their culture through beautiful illustrations and fun, heartwarming plots. After each story comes a 2-page snapshot with fun facts and activities.

Launching on Kickstarter on March 10, the book will be available to pre-order starting at $25. A Kickstarter exclusive calendar will also be available. Every month the calendar will represent a different country and a special celebration.

From the Founder of Worldwide Buddies:

“Through this book, we want readers to make buddies from around the world, explore the wonders of our planet, open their minds and warm their hearts … all through their bedtime stories!” says Evi Triantafyllides, founder of Worldwide Buddies. “In this way, children will be more open to greet, meet, listen to and learn from someone slightly different from them. Someone with a different point of view…”

**Disclosure- This is not a sponsored post. I am simply spreading the word about a beautiful, unique book for children because diversity is beautiful.
