The Peanut Butter Falcon Trailer:

The Peanut Butter Falcon Synopsis:

The film is about Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down syndrome. Zach runs away from a residential nursing home in order to fulfill his dream of attending the pro wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church). On the road, Zak meets Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), a small-time outlaw who becomes Zak’s unlikely coach and ally. Together, they set out on a wild, life-changing journey. Along the way they also try to convince Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a kind nursing-home employee charged with bringing Zak back, to join them. Film Inquiry called “PBF” “the sweetest darn film of the decade.”

Writer/directors Michael Schwartz and Tyler Nilson met Zack Gottsagen at a camp for actors with disabilities. Because the team was so inspired by Zack, they wrote the film specifically for him. Zach’s fierce determination to become a leading man in Hollywood paid off.

Our Review:

Friends are the family you choose. We can all relate to the special feeling that unexpected friendship brings and the big adventures those friendships can spur.  I couldn’t help but think of this movie for days after watching it.  The heartfelt buddy adventure stuck with me. After seeing this film I’m more inclined to champion the little guy with the big dreams.  I’ll take the person with a big heart for my team any day and I’m sure you will feel the same way.

I am extremely impressed with Shia La Beouf’s interesting career choices.  I commend his originality and willingness to go out on a limb and stretch his acting chops.  His rapport with Zach Gottsagen is terrific and comes across genuine on screen.
